Tengwang Pavilion
One of the Four Great Towers of China, Tengwang Pavilion stands majestically along the Gan River. Originally built in 653 AD during the Tang Dynasty, this iconic structure has been rebuilt 29 times throughout history. The current building, completed in 1989, rises 57.5 meters with nine stories and offers breathtaking views of the river and city skyline.
📜 História
The Pavilion of Prince Teng was first built in 653 AD by Li Yuanying, the younger brother of Emperor Taizong of Tang, who was then the governor of Nanchang. It gained eternal fame through the 'Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng' written by the Tang poet Wang Bo, a masterpiece of Chinese literature. Over the centuries, the pavilion has been destroyed by war and fire 29 times. The current structure, built between 1985 and 1989, is based on the architectural style of the Song Dynasty and stands as a symbol of Nanchang's enduring cultural spirit.
