Founded during the Song Dynasty, the village is strategically located at the junction of two rivers, forming a natural peninsula shape. The village was once a thriving commercial hub for tea and timber transport, and today it offers a peaceful glimpse into the region's prosperous past.
📜 Storia
Wangkou Village was established during the Northern Song Dynasty and reached its peak of prosperity during the Ming and Qing Dynasties as a major commercial port on the Xingjiang River. It was a hub for the transport of tea and timber. The village is home to the magnificent Yu Family Ancestral Hall, built in 1787, which is considered a masterpiece of Huizhou woodcarving.
