Nengren Temple
Nengren Temple is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Jiangxi, with a history dating back over 1,500 years. The temple complex features beautiful architecture, ancient trees, and a peaceful atmosphere that has attracted monks and pilgrims for centuries.
📜 Historia
Nengren Temple was founded during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty (502-548 AD), originally named 'Chengtian Temple'. It was renamed 'Nengren Temple' during the Tang Dynasty. As one of the three major Buddhist temples in Jiujiang, it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times throughout history. The Shengguo Pagoda within the temple is a landmark of the ancient city of Jiujiang; originally built in the Tang Dynasty, the current structure is a Qing Dynasty reconstruction, featuring a grand brick and stone design.
