Mount Lu (Lushan)
Mount Lu is one of China's most celebrated mountains, renowned for its stunning scenery, cultural significance, and historical importance. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the mountain features dramatic peaks, misty valleys, ancient temples, and colonial-era villas. It has inspired countless poets and artists throughout Chinese history.

Mount Lu has been a center of spiritual and cultural importance for over 2,000 years. It is known as the 'Cradle of Chinese Landscape Poetry' and was the birthplace of the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism at Donglin Temple. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it became a popular summer resort for Westerners, leading to the construction of hundreds of colonial-style villas. In modern times, it has also been a significant site for political conferences, most notably the Lushan Conference in 1959.
