Tongtian Yan (Heaven-Piercing Rock)

Tongtian Yan is a magnificent natural and cultural site featuring a massive cliff face with ancient Buddhist carvings and inscriptions. The site includes a series of caves, temples, and viewpoints that offer both spiritual significance and natural beauty.

📜 History

Rainbow Bridge was built during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 AD). It is the oldest and longest gallery bridge in Wuyuan. The bridge's name was inspired by a poem by the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai. Its scientific design, with ship-bow shaped piers, has allowed it to survive countless floods over eight centuries, standing as a testament to ancient Chinese engineering.
