Xunyang Tower

Xunyang Tower is a historic landmark on the banks of the Yangtze River, offering panoramic views of the river and surrounding landscape. The tower has been rebuilt multiple times throughout history and remains an important cultural symbol of Jiujiang.

📜 Geschichte

Xunyang Tower, with a history of over 1,200 years, is famously featured in the classic Chinese novel 'Water Margin' (Shui Hu Zhuan). It was here that the protagonist Song Jiang famously wrote a 'rebellious poem' after getting drunk. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty, the tower has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. The current structure, a reconstruction in the style of the Song Dynasty, serves as a museum and observation point overlooking the Yangtze River.
